Privacy
sitstaymiddle is a small dog-training log run by Helen (the app owner) for invited testers. This page says what it stores and why, in plain language.
What we store
- Your account: the email address and name from your Google account, used to sign you in and to check you're on the invite list.
- Your training log: the dogs, commands, sessions, locations, events and notes you enter. Only you can see them; other users can't, and the app owner doesn't read them in normal use.
We use this data to run the app for you (the legal basis is performing our service to you). We don't sell it or use it for advertising.
Cookies
sitstaymiddle sets two small cookies, both strictly necessary, so there's no cookie banner: one keeps you signed in (sitstaymiddle_session) and one remembers which dog you last viewed (current_dog_id). We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Usage statistics
To see which parts of the app are used and which aren't, we count page views: for each page and day, a single number such as "the diary was opened 12 times". These counts are anonymous. They don't include your name, email, IP address, device details or anything you wrote, and they use no cookies, so they can't be traced back to you. Counts are deleted after 365 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the app.
Who else handles your data
- Google, for "Sign in with Google" (they tell us your verified email and name when you sign in).
- Fly.io hosts the app and Neon hosts the database.
- GitHub, only if you use "Report an issue": what you write in the report, and the page you were on, is posted as an issue in the project's repository.
The app's fonts are served from the app itself, so your browser doesn't contact Google for them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, export, correct or delete your data at any time. You can export your diary yourself from the Diary page. To have your account and everything in it deleted, or if you have any question or complaint, email hello@sitstaymiddle.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). We keep your data until you ask us to delete it or you stop being a tester.
